Yesterday was a huge step for America. Our Country's original Constitution did not give African Americans ANY rights, to a Country that just elected their first African American President. It does not matter if you are a Democrat, Republican or Independent, we should all be proud that our Country has come so far. I hope this is a sign that our daughter's future in America will be that much better.

Cool post, Leah!
I am so proud:
Of my home state of Ohio that sealed the deal
Of my father in law, who, after previously stating "I'm just not ready for that," voted for Obama yesterday.
Of my country, which only 40 years after legalized segregation has elected a person of color to its most important position.
YEAH!!!
Just wanted to pop in and see if you had made any more progress with your "store" and the Ethiopian Princess clothes! We received our referral on October 15 for a 6 week old baby girl from Ethiopia, so I'd love to get some things for her :)
Thanks,
Rhonda

I am proud that our country (and some of my extended family members, specifically) have come this far.
It's been a long time coming and I know that I'm proud to be one of them that voted for him.
Leah,
I wasn't able to find a place to leave a post except here, but I wondered if you'd gotten your "store" going and are going to be selling the Ethiopian Princess clothes and hair accessories. I'd love to know where you get Gabre's clothes and hair accessories. She is adorable and always looks so pretty! We just received the referrral for our 6 month old daughter last Friday!
Thanks,
Sheryl
First time I have seen your blog - but my little girl was also at the Hope for Abandoned Children Orphanage - only for a week or so before going to Children's Hope International House of Hope Transition Home. Your little girl is sooo cute!

Hi Leah! Thank you for your comment on my blog. I forward it to my mom and she has sent me back an email for you. Could you give me your email so I can forward it. Are you in Austin? I am living in Houston. Your daughter is beautiful. I have spent 6 summers w/ my parents working in Mozambique. I have logged many hours holding babies in orphanages and have an incredible love for those beautiful children. Your video of your adoption story is beautiful. I cried through most of it- yet I think the feeling I felt was joy. The picture where you are receiving your baby from a worker is priceless. I have an extremly similar picture of when my mom is handing me my baby for the first time after he was born. (She is a midwife and was able to come home from her mission in Mozambique for 2 weeks to deliver him.) I think that every mother feels that incredible sacred moment of "You are MINE!" whether your baby was born to you, or gifted to you.
Your family is beautiful! I feel like I met a new friend! my email is: annielewis83@gmail.com
I need you to send me your email address. I have switched computers and I lost it. Amberboyd@kw.com
